Work directly with me
Individual sessions are the most direct way to work with me. They give us the space to focus closely on what you are experiencing, whether you are struggling with the effects of complex trauma, recurring emotional or relationship patterns, or a particular block that is keeping you from moving forward.
We begin with an initial consultation, where we can talk through what you are struggling with, what you would like to change, and what you hope to achieve through our work together. From there, we agree on the objectives for our work and tailor the sessions to your needs.
There is no fixed formula. I draw on different approaches and tools according to what is most useful for you and what emerges during our work together.
I draw on several complementary approaches and integrate them according to what emerges in our work together.
This includes Internal Family Systems (IFS) and inner-child work; somatic approaches that help us work with what is held and expressed through the body; and the Complex PTSD framework developed by Pete Walker, including work with emotional flashbacks and the Four F responses of fight, flight, freeze and fawn.
I also place particular importance on the therapeutic relationship and the interpersonal space between us. For me, the relationship itself can become an important part of the work: a space in which patterns can be recognised, experienced differently and gradually transformed.
Where appropriate, I draw on approaches informed by Andrew Parr’s work to explore the deeper roots of trauma and the ways in which these experiences have shaped subconscious patterns and responses, to enable your own reprogramming of the subconscious.
The aim is not simply to understand your patterns intellectually, but to work at the level at which they are actually experienced — emotionally, somatically and subconsciously — so that new responses become possible.
What we can work on
Our sessions can focus on whatever is most relevant to you. This may include:

Emotional patterns that feel difficult to change
Shame, guilt and harsh self-criticism
Relationship and attachment patterns
Difficulties with boundaries
Emotional overwhelm or difficulty regulating emotions
Repeating behaviours or situations that leave you feeling stuck
